Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy revolves around the teacher as a catalyst for learning, empowering students with tools and knowledge to cultivate skills for success.

I strive to:

- Foster active listening skills, enabling students to recognize potential areas for improvement and growth.

- Solidifies robust technical foundations, allowing ideas to materialize into expressive reality.

- Embraces pragmatism, providing actionable feedback to guide progress.

- Constantly acknowledge progress and development.

- Nurture creativity, self-motivation, and individuality.

Here in San Antonio, my students are regular laureates in local competitions, including the JK Hodges Contemporary Piano Competition, the Petroff Piano Competition, and the University Interscholastic League ("Outstanding Performer" ranking). They have also been selected as Gurwitz Junior Jurors and Gurwitz Youth Ambassadors. Additionally, they have had the honor of performing at renowned venues such as the Tobin Center, Texas Public Radio, and the McNay Art Museum.
