Teaching Philosophy

 

My teaching philosophy revolves around the teacher as a catalyst for learning, empowering students with tools and knowledge to cultivate skills for success.

I strive to:

- Foster active listening skills, enabling students to recognize potential areas for improvement and growth.

 

- Solidifies robust technical foundations, allowing ideas to materialize into expressive reality.

 

- Embraces pragmatism, providing actionable feedback to guide progress.

​

- Nurture creativity, self-motivation, and individuality.

​

​In San Antonio, my students have distinguished themselves as laureates in local competitions such as the JK Hodges Contemporary Piano Competition, the Petroff Piano Competition, and the University Interscholastic League, where they earned the “Outstanding Performer” ranking. They have also been selected as Gurwitz Junior Jurors and Gurwitz Youth Ambassadors. Their performances have been featured at prestigious venues including the Tobin Center, Texas Public Radio, the McNay Art Museum, and the Composer Alliance of San Antonio.
